If I donât get my Breakfast Sweet Rolls a.k.a. Monkey Bread for Christmas morning breakfast Iâm cranky. Iâm not kidding ask my sisters or my hubby⦠theyâll tell you about the monster I turn into if I donât get my special treat.
Iâm usually the one who makes this yummy treat. I put everything together the night before and bake it in the morning when the rolls have had a chance to rise. As for the cinnamon, youâll see I donât have a measurement for it. I just coat the pan like in the picture below.
Once the cinnamon has been sprinkled all over I add in the frozen rolls and top it with dry butterscotch pudding. Who would have thought that butterscotch pudding was involved?
Yes, that is a whole stick of butter and a whole cup of brown sugar you see below. I never claimed this recipe was healthy! But, the butter and sugar, thatâs what makes this recipe.
Once the butter and sugar are melted I pour it over the rolls and cover them so they can rise. Waiting overnight to have something sweet for breakfast is hard. But, you do have sweet dreams!
In the morning the rolls will have risen and all you have to do is bake and eat. And, believe me waiting for the oven to pre-heat and the rolls to bake is so hard because you can smell them!
Straight from the oven the sauce is like molten lava so be careful or youâll burn yourself when you flip the pan over⦠Iâm speaking from experience. It hurts.
